Tips & Warnings
Apply a commercial enzyme cleaner to the urine stain to remove any lingering odors. Check the product to ensure that you can safely use it on wood. You can find these products at most pet supply stores.
If you cannot remove the cat urine from the wood completely, you may need to replace the wood. Consult a home improvement store or a contractor for advice.
Avoid cleaning the cat urine with ammonia. Since ammonia has a similar odor as cat urine, cats will relieve themselves in the same area.
Never leave standing water on wood. Always dry the wood thoroughly after you apply liquid.
