Homemade Coin Wrappers
Whether you own your own business, or love to cash in on saved change, coin wrappers are a necessity. While you can purchase these wrappers in bulk, making your own reduces waste and lets you use your creativity. If the money is a gift, you can wrap it in wrapping paper or colorful stationery. You can also recycle household paper.
Count carefully when wrapping your own coins. Remember, penny rolls contain 50 cents, nickels contain $2, dimes contain $5 and quarters contain $10.

1
Measure across the diameter of each of your coins. Quarters should be 1-inch across, nickels are about ½-inch, dimes ¼-inch and pennies about 3/8-inch. Double each measurement so your rolls will be the proper size.
-
2
Draw a rectangle on your paper for each coin. Each rectangle should be 3-inches long. Quarters should be 2-inches wide, nickels 1-inch, dimes ½-inch and pennies about ¾-inch. Cut out each rectangle.

3
Fold each rectangle in half lengthwise and crease it sharply. Unfold the rectangle and fold the long sides in toward the middle. Overlap the sides slightly, securing them together with a glue stick. Allow the rolls to dry overnight.

Poke you fingers into each flat roll to open it up for coins. Keep a finger in the bottom of the roll to keep it open while you fill it with coins. Fold down the ends of each roll and label them with a marker.

Tips & Warnings
Use a word processing program to print your own labels, complete with type of coin and a personalized design. Use textboxes as the outlines of your wrappers on the page. Attach the labels after filling the wrappers to avoid creases.
Reinforce wrapping-paper with a layer of brown paper underneath. Most wrapping paper won't stand up to the weight of your coins.
