How to Recycle Hydrodec Transformer Oil
Hydrodec is an international company that specializes in refining and selling transformer oil and other petrochemicals that can be recycled over and over. The company, fairly new in 2010, has a presence in just a few countries, including the United States and Australia. Since its products are used for industrial purposes and the company is relatively new, recycling your used oil may prove somewhat challenging. Depending on your location, you may be able to find a recycler of transformer oil willing to pick it up from your business.

1
Collect your oil in a leak-and-spill-proof container and store it in a cool, dry place away from heat or flame. According to Hydrodec, people handling the materials should wear safety glasses, overalls, and gloves when handling transformer oil. Be sure to check the containers on a regular basis to ensure there is no leakage.

2
Contact a used oil transporter who is registered with its state Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to set up the transport of your industrial oil. Since it's their business to transport oil, they will be in the know about places to recycle or dispose of transformer oil.
If you have the equipment to legally transport oil yourself, contact the transformer oil recycler nearest you to set up a recycling service. Use your local business listings to search for a "PCB Oil" recycling facility or contact your state's Department of Environmental Services to find the one nearest you. You can use the EPA's "Where You Live" web page to find the agency branch in your area. If you live in the vicinity of Canton, Ohio, contact Hydrodec directly to inquire about transformer oil recycling directly from the manufacturer.

Load your oil into your truck or the truck of the used oil transporter you have selected to work with. If you are using an oil transporter service, you will likely have to pay for the transport of your oil.
