How to Get a Real Estate License Online in Oklahoma
Becoming a real estate sales agent or broker has become increasingly easy due to the amount of online education offered in this field. Real estate agents are sales professionals who work on behalf of prospective home buyers and sellers. Working in the real estate industry requires education and licensing. In the state of Oklahoma, the real estate industry is governed by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission. Much of the necessary licensing training in Oklahoma can be carried out online.

1
Ensure that you meet all of the minimum requirements to be licensed as a real estate agent in Oklahoma. According to the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission, you must be 18 years or older to work in the Oklahoma real estate industry and you must possess a reputable moral character. If you have any felony convictions or multiple misdemeanor violations in your past, this may hinder your ability to get licensed.

2
Complete the required 90 hours of real estate education that allows you to sit for the state licensing exam. A list of pre-approved education providers can be obtained by visiting the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission website. Some of these providers, like the Charles Barnes School of Real Estate and the Oklahoma Association of Realtors, offer the option of online education. Coursework differs from provider to provider in the way that the material is organized, but most courses begin with general real estate principles and move towards more specific principles and laws related to Oklahoma. Most provide a practice exam and quizzes which you must complete successfully in order for the course to count towards your real estate education requirement.

Send in the application to sit for the licensing examination. The application must include proof of your completion of all necessary pre-licensing education requirements and it must be notarized. As part of the requirement to sit for the licensing examination, you must submit fingerprint cards for a background examination.

4
Select a broker to work for and have them complete the last page of the application. This step can be completed prior to sending in the application or it can be completed after you have passed the examination, but knowing who you will work for prior to going in to take the exam could bolster your confidence. Brokers can sign on and sponsor you or reject you and send you out the door, but many will be willing to add additional sales force members since real estate agents typically work on straight commission.

5
Take and pass the state licensing examination. As of 2010, the examination fee for sales agents was $60. Registration for the exam takes place online and is administered through PSI Services, LLC. You must pay all fees online and the exam is completed via computer at a specially designated testing area.
