Thank you cards can be printed on white or colored card stock paper.

Thank you cards are given to people after they have attended a party, reception or for completing a favor. Thank you cards can designed at home in a word processing program installed in a personal computer, then printed on a printer. Instructions

    • 1

Start a new document in the word processing program by selecting "File," then "New" from the program menu. Choose the "Tools" option from the toolbar to create the card layout, and click on "Letters and Mailings" from the menu. Select "Envelopes and Labels" from the list, then click on the "Labels" tab followed by "Options."

    • 2

Select "Letter Size" as the "Brand" or "Paper Type," and choose "White Quarter Fold Card" from the "Type" or "Product Number" menu list. This card should measure 4.25-inches by 5.50-inches. Keep the paper format as "Sheet," then select "New Document" upon completion. The document window will appear as four squares, which will be used to create two thank you cards on one sheet.

    • 3

Enter the words "Thank You" on the right corner squares. These will serve as the front covers of the "Thank You" cards. Insert any images or designs that have been selected for the front cover of the card by clicking on "Insert," then "Picture" from the toolbar. Select tools from the "Draw" toolbar at the bottom of program's window to create custom designs using different shapes and colors.

    • 4

Type the words "Designed By," along with the designer's name, on the left corner squares of the card template. These will serve as the back of the card. Smaller images and shapes can also be added to the back of the card by using the tools in the "Draw" toolbar.

    • 5

Place the 65 lb. card stock paper into the printer's paper tray. To avoid paper jams from occurring, place three sheets at a time. Select "File," then "Print" from the program's toolbar menu, and choose the number of copies in the "Copies" box. Click "Print" or "OK" to begin printing. Permit the thank you cards to dry once completed. Cut each sheet in half with scissors, using the center line as a guide, then fold each card in half.
