How to Make Custom Waterslide Decals
Waterslide decals allow you to apply images and messages onto items you otherwise wouldn't be able to do so like model airplanes and cars, finished wood and bicycles. Making custom waterslide decals allows you to express yourself in unique and individual ways and add decorative touches to everyday items to truly make them reflect your personality. There are a few things you need to know before embarking on your custom decal creation quest.

1
Design your image or logo using popular design software like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or GIMP. If you're not experienced with design software, download the images you wish to make into decals instead.
-
2
Print the decal by clicking on "File" from the menu bar then select "Print". Using the print window, adjust the ink coverage and saturation setting. Typically, this will be under the "Advance Printer Options". Let freshly printed decals dry for at least 30 minutes before use. This will avoid smearing or running of the ink.

Apply a light coating of clear photo gloss spray. Cover the entire surface, but do not apply too heavy as it can cause the ink to bleed or dissolve. Cover with a clean cardboard box to prevent dust from sticking to the decals. Allow the gloss to cure and dry overnight.

4
Check the decals to ensure they're dry. Tap your finger on the surface. It should not feel tacky or sticky. When dry, the decals are ready to use for your next project. Store in a dry, airtight container or use right away.
