How to Generate Leads for Free
Companies have to generate leads to stay in business. If people do not know that your business exists, they do not have the opportunity to spend their money with your company. To generate leads on a no-cost basis, you have to understand which buyers have the greatest interest in buying your product or service, and then share what you sell with that particular target audience.

Find buyers who want what you sell. For instance, if you offer a maid service, you have to find leads that do not have the time or ability to clean their residence or business on their own and do have the money to pay for a service to perform this task for them.

Write down a marketing plan and put it into practice. Figure out how you want to let others know about what you offer. For example, if you clean houses, you can put flyers you create on your computer or by hand on store bulletin boards, hand them out at parks in your area where single and nonworking parents go during the day or attend events in your area to let people know what you do.

Let your friends and family know that you have a business. Call the people you know and tell them that you pay a referral fee when they send you a paying customer. Offer to pay a percentage of your profits, such as 20%, for each paying client with which they provide you. To avoid the payment of referral fees upfront and to keep your advertising free, do not pay these costs until after you have the money from your client in your bank account.
