RV Side Camera Mounting Instructions
Numerous cameras are available for RV side mount and back-up systems. The cameras are connected to an LCD panel that displays the live image near the driver's seat. These cameras allow you to view blind spots while driving as an extra measure of safety. Some models will mount to the side mirror but most are just as easily installed with a bracket on the side of the vehicle. Although it can take several hours to complete the installation, it can be done at home with basic tools.

1
Determine the mounting location on the side of the RV. Many side mount cameras are placed above the front wheel well and behind the front door.
-
2
Place the mounting bracket flush with the mounting location. Use a level to adjust the position of the bracket. Use the drill to attach the bracket with the screws that are provided.
-
-
3
Set the angle of the bracket, using your eye to catch the area in which the blind spot exists. Attach the deflection plate to the bracket to prevent dirt and debris from contacting the camera lens.
-
4
Mount the display holder to the dash of the RV. Attach the LCD display to the holder and adjust so that it is easily viewed from a driving position.
-
5
Run the cable from the camera to the display and connect both ends. Either hide the cable beneath carpet and in weather stripping or use putty to conceal the cable.
-
6
Run the power cord from the display to an internal power source. Plug the power cord into an outlet. Conceal the cord beneath the carpet or use putty and conceal along the floor corners.
