Test your grout cleaner on a small area before beginning, especially if your grout is colored. If the grout becomes loose or loses color, switch to a less concentrated grout cleaner.

Apply professional strength grout cleaner to the grout according to the brand directions on the package. Allow the cleaner to sit for two to three minutes.

Scrub the grout with the grout brush. This allows the cleaner to remove debris, mold and stains from the grout. Rinse thoroughly after scrubbing.

Use the steam cleaner to go over the scrubbed areas of the grout. This removes any lingering cleaner and kills off remaining mold.
