How to Change a Shipping Address for FedEx
Fedex is an international shipping company that was founded in Memphis, Tennessee nearly 30 years ago. While Fedex began as a small courier service company, it has grown into a vast enterprise, with an astonishing total network of 240,000 employees and independent contractors worldwide. Fedex operates literally in every corner of the world and is the "go-to" company for many individuals, as well as businesses wishing to ship documents and small packages. If you are sending or expecting a Fedex package and need to change the shipping address during the shipment, Fedex is able to re-route your package by charging the shipper a small fee.

1
Track your shipment on the Fedex website. If you are the shipper, you will already have a tracking number to refer to, which was created when you first sent the package for delivery. If you are the consignee (receiving party), obtain the tracking number from the shipper or enter it on the Fedex homepage. Knowing the exact location is helpful when requesting the shipping address change request.

2
Contact Fedex customer service and request the change of shipping address. The customer service number (1-800-Go-Fed-Ex) is listed on the Fedex website under the "Customer Support" tab. Follow the prompts to be directed to a customer service representative. Tell the phone agent that you are calling to request a shipping address change, identify yourself and give your tracking number.

If you are the shipper, give the corrected address to where the package needs to be sent. You will be charged an extra $10 fee. If you are the consignee, and you need to add additional information to the shipping address (such as an apartment number), you may do so over the phone. If you are the consignee and you need to give a completely different shipping address, you must contact the shipper and have them request the change of shipping address.

4
As an alternative to steps 2 and 3, you can request for you package to be held at a Fedex location, where you can pick it up yourself. The shipper will not be charged for an address change to hold a package at a Fedex location.
