Electric glass-top stoves require a soft touch to keep from scratching the surface. While the stoves give a modern feel to a kitchen, they can become old and worn-looking without the proper care. Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid scooting pots and pans across the glass stove top, which can scratch the surface.

  • When spills occur on a hot glass stove top, turn off the heat and allow it to cool before wiping up the liquid. If you want to clean the spill before the stove has cooled, put on an oven mitt to avoid burns.
