How to Disarm a Jetta Alarm System

All Jetta vehicles come with a built-in alarm system. This prevents individuals from breaking into the vehicle and stealing equipment from the car. There are many reasons that cause the alarm to sound, ranging from the car being bumped, a high decibel level played around it, or a window being broken. Regardless how the alarm sounds, there are several options available for disarming the Jetta alarm system.

Things You'll Need

• Ignition key
• Owner's manual

Instructions

1. Press the "Unlock" button on the Jetta alarm key twice to disarm the alarm system and turn off the beeping.

2. Insert the key into the ignition. Once the car is turned on with the key, the alarm system shuts off.

3. Access the fuse box under the steering wheel. Check your owner's manual for the exact location of the fuse for the alarm. This will vary, depending on the model year. Remove the fuse and the alarm system is disarmed.
