How to Access an Ad Hoc Query

Using ad-hoc queries, Microsoft Office Access can arrange data from several data tables into one report. However, there are times when a preconstructed query pulls most of the data you need, but not all.

Microsoft Office Access contains a graphical user interface called Design View. Design View allows you to modify the fields within a query or to create a new query altogether.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Home" tab. Highlight the query you wish to view.

    • 2

Right-click the selected query and then select "Design View."

    • 3

Modify the query as needed, then click the floppy disk icon to save the query. Click the "X" at the top, right side of the query window to close the query.
