How to Decorate Baby Frames in Black & White

  • Damp paper towel

      Wipe down the picture frame with a damp paper towel to remove any dust. Remove the glass.

      Paint the entire surface of the picture frame with black or white craft paint, using a 1 inch paintbrush. Lay the frame on a clean sheet to dry for two hours. If you paint the frame white, you may need to apply another coat to cover any existing decoration.

      Write the name of the baby across the top-center of the picture frame with the lettering paint brush. If you painted the frame black, write the name is white and vice versa. Paint the name in script, bubble letters, block letters, or whatever lettering style you prefer. If you don't want to freehand the name, use lettering stencils.

      Spray the frame with with a clear spray craft sealer and let it dry according to package directions. This will keep the paint from chipping.

      Tie two bows with ribbon that are 1 to 2 inches across. The ribbon color should match the color of the name paint. Apply a dab of hot glue to the back of the ribbon's center and press the first one into the frame to the right of the name. Apply the glue to the back of the second ribbon and press it into the frame to the left of the ribbon. Let the glue dry for two hours.
