How to Reset My eMachine
eMachines manufacturers a series of netbooks, desktops and laptop computers. Certain applications and circumstances will require you to reset your computer. Resetting your eMachine computer is a quick process that can be used to fix problems, complete program installations and access the BIOS or other Windows tools, such as Safe Mode.
Instructions

Normal Restart for Windows XP

Click "Start" in the Windows taskbar.

Click "Shut Down."

Click "Restart."
Normal Restart for Windows Vista/7

Click the "Start" orb in the Windows taskbar.

Click the arrow next to "Shut Down."

Tips & Warnings
If your computer has become unresponsive, you may have to pull the plug from the power supply or disconnect the computer from the AC outlet or surge protector to reset the computer. Leave the computer unplugged for 30 seconds, reconnect everything and try again.
