Instructions

    • 1

Remove a wishbone after you've cooked and cut up a chicken or turkey. The bigger the bird, the bigger the wishbone. Clean off the wishbone and hang it up to dry, which will take about three days.

    • 2

Paint the bone any color. Use metallic spray paint in gold or silver for a traditional jewelry look. You can also use nail polish or acrylic paints coated with clear enamel to protect it.

    • 3

Cut off a 7-inch length of wire. Wrap the middle of the wire around the top of the wishbone. Cross the two ends of wire around the two sides of the wish bone twice (where the top meets the two "legs").

    • 4

Wrap the two ends of the wire back up and coil them around something round like a pen to form a loop. Wrap the ends of the wire around the base of the loop three times. Trim the excess wire. Bend any remaining ends of the wire down so they won't snag on anything.

    • 5

Slip a cord or a chain through the loop on the wishbone pendant.
