How to Set Up an XBox Wireless Network Adapter Link
In order to connect your Xbox 360 to a home Internet connection wirelessly, you must purchase and install a special wireless adapter made for your game console from Microsoft. Currently, Microsoft offers two different wireless network adapters for the Xbox 360: a wireless "B/G" adapter, and a faster wireless "N" adapter for use with a compatible wireless router. Connecting your Xbox 360 to your home wireless network will allow you to play certain game titles head to head with other Xbox live subscribers from all over the world and share files between your networked PCs and your Xbox 360.

1
Plug in your Xbox 360 wireless network adapter to the back of your game console. The network adapter will plug into place with two small locking tabs designed to fit in the two slots on the back of the console, near the USB port and the network cable connection. Plug in the USB cable from the wireless adapter to the nearby USB port.

2
Flip up the wireless adapter's antennae, and if you have a network cable plugged into the console; unplug it from the system.

3
Turn on your Xbox 360 console and navigate to the "My Xbox" menu. Go to "System Settings" and then the "Network Settings" menu. Select the "Configure Network" menu choice; and on the "Basic Settings" tab, choose the "Wireless Mode" selection.
-
4
Select the "Scan for Networks" option from the menu. After the scan has completed, choose your wireless router from the menu. If your wireless router is set up to be hidden from network scans and you know the wireless network name assigned to your router; choose the "Specify Unlisted Network" option from the menu and enter your network's name. Select "Done" when finished.
-
5
Enter your wireless network's password when prompted, then select "Done". Press the "B" button on your console's controller to test your network connection. If you do not know your wireless network's name or password, refer to your particular wireless router's documentation on how to set up or reset the settings (accessing your wireless router's settings requires you to open up an Internet browser on a network-connected computer, and enter in your router's default IP address in the browser's address bar).
