You can find your bankruptcy case number on any of the documents and correspondence you receive from the court, including the notice of the 341 meeting. However, if you lost your bankruptcy paperwork, you can still find information, such as your case number, through the U.S. Department of Justice Voice Case Information System (VCIS). You can access the electronic database of any U.S. bankruptcy court jurisdiction 24 hours per day, seven days a week, with a touch-tone telephone. The VCIS is a free service.

Find the phone number for your bankruptcy district's court by looking on the U.S. Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) website.

Call the number. Listen to the voice prompts and follow the instructions to find case information by name.
Step 3
Enter your last name and then your first name using the phone keys. Press "1" to enter "Q" or "Z." Press the pound key when you finish entering your name.
Step 4
Listen as the computerized voice lists information about your case, including your case number. Hang up when you have the information you need.
