How to Hang a Plate

Hanging decorative plates can add charm to your kitchen.

Hanging plates can add a lovely country look to your kitchen. If you plan on hanging a group of plates, choose ones that are cohesive in some way. It could be the shape, color or theme of the plates that make more of an impact when grouped together on the wall.

Just use wall clips to hang the plates; don't frame them. Hanging the plates this way shows off more of the details of the plates instead of hiding them.

Things You'll Need

• Brackets for plates
• Craft paper
• Scissors
• Nails
• Hammer

Instructions

1. Attach the appropriate V-shaped plate hanger or bracket to each plate. If you have valuable or delicate antique plates, choose a V-shaped hanger instead of a spring one because these can put pressure on the plate.

2. Place craft paper on the table and arrange the plates on top to determine how you want to place them on the wall. Cut out the shapes and tape them to the wall. By doing this, you can decide on the most attractive configuration before you put holes in your walls.

3. Hammer a nail into the wall through the paper, then remove the paper. Carefully hang up your plates on the nails.
