Instructions

    • 1

Locate the diverter valve's lever and face plate and use your wrench and screwdriver to loosen all the pieces. You will see the diverter valve behind the lever used to switch on and off the outlets.

    • 2

Check the brass nuts on the valve's stem. The nuts usually come in twos and in different sizes. Open the valve to allow the water to seep out around the stem nuts.

    • 3

Tighten the nut inside the stem with your wrench to stop water from leaking. Tighten the other nuts with the wrench in case the valve continues to leak after you have tightened the inside nut of the valve.

    • 4

Check if the leak has stopped after tightening all the nuts. If water continues to leak from the valve, replace the old nuts with new ones and tighten them in place with your wrench.

    • 5

Reinstall a new knob and face plate to the diverter valve after replacing the nuts and tightening them with your screwdriver and wrench.
