How to Transfer a Dodge Ram's Warranty

A warranty is placed on a new vehicle as soon as you buy it. A warranty will usually cover certain parts of your vehicle such as a transmission in case they fail due to manufacturer defect. Chrysler, being the parent company of Dodge, has a policy that allows you to transfer your warranty one time. This means that the first time you sell your vehicle, you can transfer your warranty. After that, the warranty can not be transferred again.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete and sign the "Transfer" portion of your Dodge Warranty Plan Provisions. If you no longer have a copy, you will need to visit a Dodge dealership in order to get a transfer form.

    • 2

Determine what the transfer fee is in your state. You can find the listed transfer fee in your Plan Provisions. In most states, it is $50.

    • 3

Send the completed transfer form along with the applicable fee to:

      Chrysler Service Contracts

      Transfer Department

      P.O. Box 2700

      Troy, Michigan 48007-2700

Tips & Warnings

  • If you decided to finance your vehicle, you will need to pay the vehicle off in full before the warranty can be transferred.

  • You can also go into your local Dodge dealership, where they will walk you through the process.
