Mail drop boxes are getting harder to find.

Mail drop mailboxes are used by the U.S. Post Office to receive and store mail. You can find mail drop boxes in just a few easy steps.

Instructions

    • 1

      Go to the United States Post Office website. Here, you can search all of the different services that are available to you, including the location of mail drop boxes, using the services locator on the site.

      Enter the address where you would like to find a drop box. You can enter an address or zip code. A zip code is required at the minimum.

    • 3

      Browse the map to find the closest mail drop box to you. Since many of these drop boxes have been moved or discontinued, it is always best to check the site before leaving for a drop box, even if it is one that has previously been there.

Tips & Warnings

  • Other websites, such as Pay Phone Project, contains notes about boxes that no longer exist. Checking this will ensure that the box is still there and operational.
