How to Set a Bathroom Sink
A new bathroom sink can help freshen up a bathroom with only an afternoon's worth of work. The color of the sink can be a neutral color that will last through various remodels or can be used to provide an accent color in the bathroom. Complementing the new sink with a new faucet will complete the transformation. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Jigsaw
- Paper towel
- Sandpaper
- Towel
- Plumber's putty
- Silicone

Measure the depth of the bathroom counter and the width of the basin. There needs to be 1 to 2 inches of clearance from the edge of the basin to the edge of the counter.

Place the template that comes with the sink on top of the counter and use a pencil to trace the cut marks onto the countertop.

Use a jigsaw to cut the opening for the sink in the countertop. Take care to stay on the inside edge of the line so that the hole isn't cut too large.

Use a damp paper towel to wipe away the dust from the cutting.

Place the sink inside the cut hole to check the fit. Use sandpaper to smooth away any tight spots.

Turn the sink upside down on a towel and place a bead of plumber's putty along the edge of basin.

Turn the sink over and place it in the hole. Press down firmly on the edges of the sink to secure the plumber's putty to the countertop.

Place a bead of silicone around the edge of the sink to seal it to the counter.
