1
Add a new coat of paint to the accent wall in your foyer, living room or common area. Chose a pastel like light blue or pistachio or a bolder color like kelly green or yellow.
-
2
Replace an area rug with one that has a springtime theme. Place a rug with a floral design in the middle of your living room, or replace your wool or tweed rug with one made of lighter material.

3
Brighten up the room with more lamps. Or if the room an abundance of windows, take down your heavy drapes and replace them with crisp white curtains. Leave them open to let the sunlight in.
-
4
Drape pastel-colored throw blankets over your sofa, bed or armchairs. Shades like lavender or dusty pink are ideal for a room that has light brown or beige furniture. Green and blue throw blankets work well against gray furniture. Select throw pillows in the same color scheme.

Complete your spring home decor with a centerpiece of fresh flowers for the dining room or coffee table. Blooms like tulips or daisies are ideal and can either contrast or complement the other decor colors in the room. For instance, coral tulips pair well with the pink throw rug you've chosen for your bedroom. Daisies add a striking white to a room that is adorned with pastel shades. If your budget is limited, consider picking up some inexpensive but colorful primrose plants in the supermarket's floral department.
