How to Make a Really Small Robot
Robot toys can come in all shapes and sizes, and can be constructed from ordinary objects that you may have lying around your house. Even if you only have really small materials, such as toothpicks or buttons, you can create a really small robot that can be used during pretend play or in a dollhouse. Once the robots are complete, customize them by painting them with metallic paint.
Things You'll Need
- Toothpicks
- Buttons
- Toilet paper roll
- Small screws
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue stick
- Metallic paints
Instructions

1
Insert toothpicks around the base of a toilet paper tube. This will allow the tube to stand upright independently.
-
2
Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug it in to heat up for five minutes.

3
Apply small screws, springs, washers, small red buttons and any other small objects onto the tube using hot glue. Be creative and place them wherever you want there to be "mechanical" parts on the robot -- don't forget a face.
-
4
Squeeze lines of hot glue connecting the different items that are glued to the tube. This will make it look as though electrical wires are connecting the different parts of the robot.
-
5
Paint the entire structure with metallic paint. This will make the robot look like it is made of metal. Allow the paint to dry completely.
