How to Remove Tape From Paper
Removing tape from paper is often a frustrating and difficult task. If not done properly, most people end up tearing or damaging the paper in the process. The longer the tape has been adhered to the paper, the more challenging it is to release. Regardless of the type of tape or the type of paper, a few simple procedures for unbinding the two can be utilized. Eliminate the stress and salvage posters, important documents, wrapping paper or any other kinds of paper, by freeing sticky tape without causing damage.

1
Heat the tape with a hot blowdryer for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute. The thicker the tape, the longer you will have to apply heat. Also, if the tape has been stuck to the paper for a long time, you may need to utilize more heat. Keep the heating device on-hand to reheat the tape if it cools before being completely removed.

Steam works equally well as heat.Use the steam from a household iron to moisten, and then loosen the tape for removal. Hold the iron about four or five inches away from the paper and press the button on the iron that releases steam.

3
Slowly pick at the edge of the tape with a sharp razor blade.
-
4
Pull the tape gently with your fingers or by using the razor blade, making sure to keep it heated during the process. As you pull, keep holding onto the part of the tape that is closest to the paper. Remember to pull very slowly. If you notice the tape starting to damage the paper, wet the tape with any type of oil or grease, like WD-40.

5
Douse clean cloth with WD-40 or liquid dish or laundry detergent and apply to any remaining tape residue on the paper. A gentle soap with warm water on a soft, clean cloth works well for removing any remaining residue on the paper as well.
-
6
Set the paper aside to let it dry at room temperature.
