How to Find Business Contacts
Even if you're completely happy in the job you have or think you have all the clients you need, think again. There's no such thing as making too many business contacts. But if you don't know where to find them, the searching process can be frustrating. Thankfully, you can find business contacts with ease right online.

1
Contact companies -- not competitors -- that share similarities with yours. Ask them questions about their success, and whom to trust in the industry. This can give you insight on whom you should be in contact with.
-
2
Attend industry trade shows or get-togethers. Collect business cards and email addresses from everyone. When you receive a business card, ask the carrier a few questions and make notes on their card for later reference.

3
Branch out from one contact to another. Talk with your current friendly contacts. Find out to whom they talk to and work with. Use their contact list to build your own. Even if the contacts you gain today will not benefit you now, the one you will gain from them tomorrow could be a gold mine.
-
4
Keep on top of new contacts coming into the industry. If a new business opens, contact the owner and build a relationship before others do. Another entry in your list is another opportunity later down the line.
-
5
Don't forget the basics. Cold calling is still an effective way at building business contacts. By flipping through the phone book and calling everyone that can benefit from your services, you'll gain opportunities to expand. Be bold and take the chances others avoid.
