How to Load a PEZ Dispenser

PEZ candy was originally created in the 1920s as a breath mint in Austria. The first PEZ dispenser was designed to look like a cigarette lighter in the hopes of encouraging people to quit smoking. The PEZ website notes that in the 1950s the character dispensers and fruit flavors were introduced, marketed toward children. Currently PEZ candy can be purchased in assorted fruit, chocolate and cola flavors. Dispensers are available in modern and classic designs featuring characters from Disney, Ice Age, sports, super heroes, villains, Star Wars, and more.

Instructions

1. Lay the dispenser on a flat surface with the front candy dispensing side up.

2. Pull the top of the dispenser up and out revealing the candy tray.

3. Hold the try open with one hand while you load PEZ into the tray. Set the candy into the tray vertically so that the candy comes out correctly. You can load the tray one candy at a time or several at a time. Be careful to keep tension on the dispenser and top. It can easily snap closed, scattering and breaking the PEZ candies.

4. Allow the tray to slide back into the dispenser slowly. Flip the top open to remove candy.

Tips & Warnings

• Use caution when closing the dispenser, it can pinch your fingers.
