How to Stop a Debugger

Debuggers are programs that analyze the consistency of the software and hardware on your computer in search of errors. Because this scan can be very system resource-intensive, having a debugger running on your machine can drastically slow down all other processes. Stop a debugger at any time using the native Microsoft Task Manager, found in all versions of the Windows operating system.

Instructions

    • 1

      Right-click the taskbar.

    • 2

      Click "Start Task Manager."

    • 3

Click the "Applications" Task Manager tab.

    • 4

Click the listing for your debugger.

    • 5

Click "End Task" to stop the debugger from running on your computer.
