How to Install a Bedliner in a Chevy Colorado
You have two options for bedliners; paint-on or manufactured. Manufactured bedliners are custom-fit to the truck and just slide into place. Paint-on bedliners protect your vehicle from damage the same as a manufactured bedliner, but also protect it from rust and offer some sound-dampening qualities. The Chevy Colorado has options for both types of bedliners. Installing manufactured bedliners is as simple as sliding them into place and attaching them with self-tapping screws. Paint-on bedliners require a few additional steps.

Things You'll Need
- Bedliner paint
- Roll-on applicator
- 50-grit metal sandpaper
- Painter's tape
- Dish washing soap
- Shop rags

Tape off the area of the truck body that you do not want to cover with bedliner paint.

Sand the area to be painted with 50-grit sandpaper. You need to rough up the surface to allow the bedliner paint to fully adhere.

Clean the area thoroughly with a mixture of dish soap and water. Scrub off any grease, oil or dirt. Rinse the area thoroughly with water and allow it to dry fully before continuing.

Pour the bedliner directly into the bed. Use a roll-on applicator to spread it around. Pour a large puddle near the sides of the bed. Dip the applicator into the puddle and paint the sides. Spread a thick coat onto the bed of the truck. Allow it to dry then add additional coats as desired.
