How to Maximize Satellite Internet
Satellite Internet works in a similar fashion to satellite television in which the connection is based off of a satellite and captured by the satellite dish installed on or around your home. When using a satellite Internet connection, there are a few ways to maximize your connection speed; however, if you wish to boost your Internet connection it is not as simple as contacting your provider and requesting an instant upgrade (which is the case for cable and DSL providers).

1
Clear out the cookies and history on your Internet browser. The buildup of these slow down your Internet connection, no matter what kind of service you have.
-
2
Use only one computer on the satellite Internet connection at one time. Because all of the computers share the same bandwidth the computers have less to work with.

3
Contact your satellite provider about a service upgrade. For this a service technician must come out and install a new satellite dish. Often there is also a service charge for this upgrade process (actual price varies depending on the provider).

4
Close out all other Internet programs except your Internet browser if you are running a slower connection. Additional programs suck the connection speed (the same as using multiple computers) so keeping to one program allows you to obtain the fastest connection speed possible.
