How to Clean Oak Hardwood Floors

Sweep the floors at least once a week. Use a broom, dust mop or a vacuum cleaner without a beater brush.

Rinse a clean mop with warm water in a bucket, squeeze the water out of the mop and wipe over the oak hardwood as needed if there are sticky areas of buildup.

Disinfect by pouring 1/2 cup white vinegar and 1 gallon warm water in the bucket. Again, dip the mop in the bucket and squeeze out the water. Wipe the mop over your oak floors, following the grain in clean, even strokes.

Let the floors air dry before allowing foot traffic.
