How to Test an Ecard

Sending an ecard is one way you can keep in touch with those you care about.

An Ecard is a card that you send to someone on the Internet. Ecards can be a way to communicate with someone without going to the hassle of buying a card in a store, paying for a stamp and sending it. You can send free Ecards, or you can sign up for a subscription to an Ecard company, where you can send as many Ecards as you'd like for a fee each month. Either way, you can test an Ecard before you send it, so you can see how it looks and make sure it will arrive.

1. Test the Ecard directly on the site you use to create it. Most sites allow you to click a link to see how your Ecard will appear to the receiver. Click that link to see what the person getting your card will see. You can test out the sound by clicking on the sound button, and watch how animated cards play out. You can trust that what you see on the Ecard site will be what the person receives, so test it before you send it.

2. Input your own address as the receiver's address, and then built a card. That way you can send it to yourself first. Pay attention to how you build the card and what you write in it, as well as the choices you make for illustrations or sound effects. After you receive the card, open it to make sure it is what you want. Then you can make the same card again and send it to the actual receiver.

3. Put your address in at the same time as the receiver's address, so the card goes to both of you. This step will allow you to see when the card arrives, and to make sure it looks right. If the card doesn't show up, you can resend it.
