Schwinn Bike Pump Instructions

...

Properly inflated tires are one of the most essential aspects of a safe, enjoyable bike ride. When tires are inflated to their recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) rating, your ride will be efficient, smooth and free of pinch flats (when the inner tube is pinched between the tire and rim because of under-inflation). Instead of risking tube and tire damage by inflating with the compressor pumps at service stations, choose a Schwinn bike pump for quick and accurate inflation, every time.

Rotate your wheel so the air valve is easily accessible. Unscrew the valve cap and set it aside.

Fit the pump's hose nozzle over the valve. Push the nozzle head down over the valve and lock it into place by pulling up on the small lever. If your valve is a Presta type (metal with a small screw at the top), fit an adapter into the hose nozzle first.

Stand over the pump, using your feet to steady its foundation plate. Grip the pump handle and inflate to the recommended PSI rating, located on the sidewalls of your tires. Use the pump's gauge as a reference.

Remove the nozzle by pushing the lever down and pulling the head away from the valve. Screw the valve cap back into place.

Repeat the above steps for your other tire if necessary.

Tips

Some Schwinn pumps may already be equipped with a Presta valve nozzle. Refer to your specific pump to see if you'll need an adapter.

Warnings

Do not over-inflate your tires. Doing so can cause the inner tube to burst and result in damage to your tire and wheel. It may also result in an accident while riding.
