How to Install an X-Cargo Locking Car Top Carrier
The X-Cargo Sport-20 is a car top carrier that is designed to hold up to 100 pounds of cargo on top of almost any SUV, van or crossover vehicle. A car top carrier, such as the X-Cargo, might be useful if you frequently travel with many passengers in your vehicle and extra space is required. The X-Cargo might also be helpful if you wish to store sporting equipment or are going on vacation. After setting the X-Cargo carrier on top of your vehicle with the help of another person, the carrier can be adjusted and installed.
Instructions

1
Hold up one end of the X-Cargo while another person takes the other end. Lift the carrier on to the roof of your vehicle.
-
2
Slide the carrier forward and backward so that its mounting slots are positioned correctly above your vehicle's crossbars. Mount the box as close to the rear of the vehicle as possible so that wind resistance is minimized.

3
Adjust the vehicle's crossbars, if they are adjustable, to the widest possible position. Check the front hood and rear hatch clearance.
-
4
Place the carrier on the crossrails. Insert the included U-Bolts under the crossrails, then set the reinforcing plate underneath the carrier bottom.
-
5
Assemble the U-Bolts by sliding them through the carrier's bottom mounting holes and the included U-Bolt plates. Secure the U-Bolts with the four threaded knobs. Each U-Bolt uses two knobs.
