How to Troubleshoot a 42 Inch Samsung DLP Projector
Samsung's 42-inch DLP projector television uses the optical semiconductor chip invented by Texas Instruments in 1987 called the DLP chip. The chip contains a rectangular array of hinged mirrors that reflect images onto a TV screen. Problems with the Samsung DLP projector television can include poor picture quality, bad sound, no picture or sound, and unacceptable colors. These kinds of problems can be corrected by following some troubleshooting steps.

1
Press the "Source" button on the remote control if there's no sound or picture. The Samsung is dependent on a source, like a cable box, for programming. Make sure the source is turned on and connected. Look for any loose wiring and plug it back in.

2
Press "Mode" on the remote control if the remote won't work. Toggling through "Mode" positions will ultimately put the remote into "TV Mode." Change the batteries on the remote control if the remote control won't change the Source when pressing the "Source" button. Remove the cover from the back of the remote control, remove the expired batteries and replace them.

Set the Color Weakness Enhancement feature if you are unable to get a good picture. This feature adjusts the 42-inch Samsung DLP projector television's red, green, or blue to enhance the picture. Use it if you experience missing colors. From the "Menu" button, choose "Setup" and the "Enter." Select "Color Weakness" from the menu and use the arrow buttons to make compensatory adjustments. Press "Enter" to save a setting and then "Exit" when you are done.
