How to Make a Boppy Slipcover
A Boppy is a brand of cushion that new mothers can use for several purposes, like for breastfeeding or to nestle the baby in for a nap. The cushion is a C-shape and easy to make a slipcover for, which will protect the Boppy from spit up, spilled bottle milk or other stains. Using some newspaper, you can make a basic pattern for the project, and even sewing novices will be able to put together a simple Boppy slipcover.

1
Lay the Boppy on a sheet of newspaper, and trace the cushion's outline with a pencil. Cut out the tracing to make a simple Boppy sewing pattern.
-
2
Fold a piece of fabric in half width-wise so you have a double layer of fabric. You can use any material you like, but cotton or fleece are soft and wash well.

3
Attach the newspaper pattern to the top of the fabric with straight pins. Cut along the pattern leaving about a one-inch border around the perimeter for seam allowance. Remove the straight pins, and you should now have two matching fabric panels.
-
4
Place the fabric panels on top of one another, and sew a seam along the border with your sewing machine. Leave a six-inch portion open for your zipper, and pull the slipcover inside out using this opening. The rough edges of the fabric should now be on the inside with the smooth seam on the outside.
-
5
Sew a six-inch zipper insert into the opening you left so you can zip up and unzip the slipcover to put it on and take it off of the Boppy.
