How to Configure a Linksys BEFW11S4 for Brighthouse

Attach an ethernet cable from one of the numbered ethernet ports on the back of the Linksys BEFW11S4 to your computer's ethernet port.

Open an Internet browser and type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar followed by the "Enter" key. You will be asked to type in a network username and password in order to login; leave the username field blank but type "admin" in the password field and click the "OK" button. You should now see the Linksys configuration screen.

Follow the onscreen prompts to configure the BEFW11S4 for your Brighthouse service. The exact settings to be used depend heavily on what exact type of service for which you subscribe from Brighthouse as well as your geographic location and other factors. Contact Brighthouse technical support if you have any questions during the course of the configuration process. Once configured, you are free to detach the ethernet cable that attaches the Linksys BEFW11S4 to your computer and use its wireless capabilities.
