How to Make a Team Logo
Whether you're hitting a home run, going for a hat trick or making a three-pointer, team spirit is what it's all about. Show off that team spirit with a logo, a graphical image representing the team. Use logos on everything from team T-shirts to the website to scoring rosters and game day programs. With a couple of clicks in a graphics software program, you can make a team logo that will really score big.

Using Paint

Open Paint, click the Paint button in the top-left corner of the screen and select "Properties." Type the preferred logo dimensions, such as "5" for the "Width" and "4" for the "Height." Select "Inches" in the "Units" section. Click the "OK" button.

Select one of the team's colors from the "Colors" section of the toolbar/ribbon. Choose a shape, such as the star, from the "Shapes" section of the toolbar.

Position the cursor on the top-left section of the Paint workspace, click and hold the left mouse button and drag to the bottom-right of the screen to form the logo shape.

Choose another of the team's colors from the "Colors" section. Click the "A" icon for the text tool. Click the middle of the shape and select a font and text size. Type the team name or a slogan such as "Go Bulls!"

Click the Paint button, select "Save As" and type a name for the logo. Choose "GIF" as the "Save as type" and save the logo to the computer.
Using Photoshop

Open Photoshop, select the "File" menu and click "New." Type "TeamLogo" into the "Name" box. Type the dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as "5" for each. Choose "inches" from each drop-down menu. Select "Transparent" from the "Background Contents" menu. Click the "OK" button.

Click the "T" icon on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen for the text tool. Choose a font, text size and team color for the logo text from the toolbar at the top of the workspace.

Click the "TeamLogo" box and type the team name or a phrase such as "2011 Tiger Team!"

Select the "File" menu again and click "Open." Browse to a digital photo of the team and double-click it. The picture opens on the Photoshop workspace. Press and hold down the "Ctrl" button on the keyboard and drag and drop the photo onto the "TeamLogo" box above or below the text. Resize the photo by pulling down the "Edit" menu, selecting "Transform," choosing "Scale" and shrinking the picture to fit the logo box.

Click the "File" menu. Select "Save As," choose "GIF" from the "Format" menu and save the logo to the computer.
Using Publisher

Open Publisher and click the "Blank 8.5 x 11" button on the top of the screen. Click the "Page Layout" tab. Click the "Size" button. Choose "Page Setup." Type logo dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as "3" and "4" respectively. Click the "OK" button to resize the Publisher workspace.

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen. Choose the "Clip Art" button. Type a word or phrase such as "baseball," "basketball" or "hockey puck" into the "Search for" box. Click "Go," scroll through the results and double-click a picture to add it to the logo workspace.

Select the "Draw Text Box" button on the ribbon/toolbar. The cursor transforms to a plus sign. Draw a text box below or above the picture.

Type the team's name into the text box. Highlight the team name and click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen. Change the text's appearance using the font, text size and text color options in the "Font" section of the ribbon/toolbar.

Click the "File" tab. Select "Save As." Type a name for the logo, choose "GIF" from the "Save as type" menu and save the file to the computer.
