How to Word Wedding Enclosure Cards
Wedding enclosure cards are separate from the wedding invitation. The reception enclosure card invites guests to the wedding reception. The respond enclosure cards request guests to notify the hosts whether or not they will be in attendance. Response cards are placed inside an individual envelope with a stamp for mailing. Reception cards are inserted with the wedding invitation in another envelope. The wedding invitation envelope and respond card envelope are placed together in the envelope for mailing.

Request the presence of your guests at the wedding reception. For example, "The pleasure of your company is requested at the reception immediately following the ceremony" or "Please join us as we celebrate the union of our lives and our families. Reception to follow the ceremony."

Provide the name and address of the reception venue. This is written underneath the request of your guest to attend the reception.

Select the respond card to word.

Request a response from your guests. For example, "The favor of a reply is requested" or "Please respond on or before."

Provide the date guests need to respond by. This is written underneath the request for a reply.

Supply space for guests to write in their names and whether they will or will not attend.

Provide a space for quests to select their dinner choice. This option is for receptions that require guests to choose their meal prior to arriving. This is placed under the wording "will attend" or "unable to attend."
