Electric Quilt software is a user-friendly computer program for the beginning quilter to the most advanced. This software can be used to design entire quilts, scan fabric, draw single blocks and choose from over 20,000 quilt blocks, fabrics, embroidery designs, photos, and layouts included in the Electric Quilt 6 program. EQ6 has a huge library of block designs, fabrics, photos and layouts and a importing feature that makes it easy to import personal photos into the photo library to create photo and memory quilts.

Instructions

      Download from your digital camera's memory card or with a USB cable.

      Download or scan the photos you would like to use in your quilt design to your computer and save. Edit your photos with whatever photo editing software you have on your computer. Crop each photo to the right size for the quilt block you are making; otherwise the images will be distorted when you import them into your quilt design.

      Open the Electric Quilt 6 program and choose LIBRARIES then click on the photo library.

      Click on Import and then browse through your image files to select the photos you'd like to import into your EQ6 photo library. Click on the photo(s) you want or use CTRL+A to copy them all.

      Click OPEN and you will be brought to the Import Results section; then add the photo(s) to your library.

      Open the quilt design custom layout you've created and open the LAYER 3 tab at the bottom of the screen. Make sure there is a check mark next to GRAPH PAD in the top menu bar.

      Choose the SET tool, hold down the SHIFT key and move your cursor over the area you want the photo to go into.

      Hold down the SHIFT key and click and drag out a box. The box needs to be big enough for the photo to appear.

      Click on the ADJUST tool then select the photo. The graph pad area will light up at the bottom of your screen with numbers.

      Enter the size you want your photos to be in the graph pad and the photos will be sized to fit your quilt block design.
