How to Find Lost Family for Free
Lost family members leave important clues that help you locate them wherever they have gone. Things said to close friends and family is a good start, but do not forget to get the local authorities involved if something feels wrong. The internet offers a number of electronic methods of tracking down your lost relative, or at least discovering his condition. Use these tools but try to stay calm while you search for your family member.

1
Speak to his friends and close family. If his departure was on purpose, it is likely that he discussed where he was going with someone. Ask them about their recent conversations with your family member. Discuss his recent interests, places he may have mentioned and concerns he had during the months before his departure.

2
Contact local emergency centers in his hometown. If your family member is hurt or ill, the hospital should direct you to his current location, and depending on your relation, give you some information regarding his condition. If your family member has been in contact with the local police or held by them, they can direct you to necessary contacts and facilitate a reconnection.

Consult the police if you feel something is suspicious about your relative's departure. Get them involved with your search early, especially if you find the person's home broken into or personal effects damaged. The police can determine if the situation requires additional investigation. Additionally, if you report that your relative as missing, the police will be prepared when they come in contact with him.

Use the internet and stage your own electronic search. Locate your family member's networking pages such as Facebook. Read old entries, and pay attention to any clues that he left regarding possible destinations. Read new entries for affirmation that your relative is healthy and safe somewhere. Send him a message electronically through Facebook, Twitter or standard email. Give your contact information and let him reach back out to you.

5
Avoid appearing judgmental or frantic when trying to contact him, at least until you know where he is and if he is safe. If your relative is safe but actively avoiding contact with others for a time, he could find your attempt to contact him as offensive. Keep your message simple: that you want confirmation that he is safe and healthy. If he feels that you are not judgmental, he are more likely to open up to you and discuss his intentions.
