How to Buy a Money Order Online
Money orders make it easy to pay bills with companies that do not accept electronic payments. They can also be sent to family and friends in other countries. They are accepted as cash by most institutions that cash checks, although the increase in fraudulent money orders has caused some banks to treat them as checks. Money orders offer even greater flexibility when you can buy them online. Online money order services allow you to purchase a money order from your home using a credit or debit card or your PayPal account.

Select an online money order company. Some include Western Union, MoneyGram and Payko, which allows you to send a money order online to a recipient's mailing address. Payko allows you to pay using your PayPal account.

3
Select how fast you want the recipient to receive the funds. For example, with Payko and MoneyGram, you can choose to mail the money order to the recipient using different shipping options. (Payko only services the U.S., Canada and the U.K.) MoneyGram lets you choose whether you want to send the money order using a credit or debit card or your bank account. The bank account option takes a few days, whereas paying by credit or debit card puts funds into your recipient's hands in minutes.

4
Register as a user on the money order company's website. Follow the instructions to complete your transaction, including entering your credit/debit card, bank account or PayPal account information. Keep the tracking number you are given in case the money does not arrive in the recipient's mailbox or there is a problem when they try to retrieve it from a money order agent of the company from whom you bought the money order.
