1

2
Remove the old lighting fixtures by taking off the shade, bulb and the plate. The plate is removable by unscrewing the screws holding it in place.

-
3
Disconnect the wires connected to the inside of the fixture. The wires are color coordinated, usually red, white, blue and green.
-
4
Connect the new overhead lights to your laundry room by connecting the matching wire color to each other. Screw in the plate, add the bulb and covering, then turn the power back on to the laundry room.
-
5
Add puck lighting to the inside of the cabinets in your laundry room, if you have them. This will allow more visibility of your products and laundry tools, such as baskets, hangers and irons. Some puck lighting comes with a stick backing and run by batteries.
-
6
Add portable lighting underneath the laundry room cabinets to enhance the visibility of the buttons on your washer and dryer. If you have a small laundry room, adding lighting under your cabinet will make the room appear larger.
-
7
Add a standing lamp to your laundry room if space allows. This will allow you to work in one area, without having to light up the whole room. This type of lighting will come in handy for ironing and sorting clothes.
