How to Make Glass Tile Necklace Pendants
Artists and crafters, especially those who use a lot of decorative paper and fabric, often have little bits of material leftover. These little snippets often seem too large or too pretty to throw away, so you keep them, but they end up taking up too much space in your art drawers. If you love making homemade jewelry, you can clean out that space in an instant. Glass tile pendants use just little bits of paper or fabric at a time, creating very simple, original pieces.
Things You'll Need
- Diamond glaze
- Glass tiles
- Fabric or paper scraps
- Sharp, fine scissors
- Rubber-based permanent adhesive
- Pendant bales

1
Squeeze about a dime-sized dollop of diamond glaze onto the rough side of a glass tile.
-
2
Press the glazed tile directly onto the pattern of your fabric or paper, making sure it is centered over the part of your material that you want as your pendant. Push firmly on all four corners and allow the diamond glaze to dry for about two hours..

3
Cut away the excess material from around the glass tile, using fine, sharp scissors with very pointy blades. Work slowly to trim away the excess without scratching the glass.
-
4
Flip your glass tile over so you can see the back of your material. Trace around the edge of the material with your diamond glaze and then smear it evenly over the back of the material with a finger. Dab a little more diamond glaze on your finger and run it over the edges of the material and tile to make a waterproof seal between them. Allow this to dry overnight.

5
Squeeze a miniscule amount of rubber-based permanent adhesive onto the bottom front of a pendant bale, which is a small metal loop with a flat metal oval below it for gluing onto homemade pendants. Press the glued side of your bale to the back center of the side of your pendant that you want to be the top. Allow it to dry for 24 hours.
