How to Make Your Own Tassimo Disc

Use your favorite blend in homemade Tassimo discs.

Tassimo coffee makers allow java lovers on the go to make a single cup of coffee rather than brewing an entire pot. These special brewers use Tassimo discs, which are small coffee pods that are inserted into the unit and brewed in a matter of minutes. Purchasing Tassimo discs can be more expensive than buying traditional coffee grounds in a can, and the multipacks in which discs may contain some blends that a coffee drinker does not enjoy. A favorite coffee blend can be used in homemade Tassimo discs, by using 4-cup coffee filters.

Things You'll Need

• Metal measuring scoop
• Plastic cup
• 4-cup coffee filter
• Coffee grounds

Instructions

1. Locate a metal measuring scoop that fits snugly into the Tassimo pod holder. Avoid using soft plastic measuring scoops as they lose their form during the disc-making process.

2. Find a plastic cup with a bottom that fits snugly into the measuring scoop.

3. Place a 4-cup coffee filter into the measuring scoop. Set the bottom of the plastic cup into the coffee filter.

4. Press down on the cup and twist to form the coffee filter into the shape of the measuring scoop, which more closely matches the shape of a Tassimo disc.

5. Remove the plastic cup and fill the coffee filter, which is still in the measuring scoop, three-quarters full with your favorite coffee grounds.

6. Fold the sides of the coffee filter in and over themselves to completely cover the coffee grounds. The plastic cup can also be pressed down onto the newly formed disc in order to tamp down the grounds, which will provide a stronger cup of coffee.

7. Lift the coffee disc from the measuring scoop and place it into the Tassimo disc holder. Make sure that the bottom, smooth side is down and the folded side is up.

8. Brew the coffee according to the Tassimo brewer's directions.
