How to Make Christmas Empty Glass Bottle Decorations

Recycle glass bottles of any shape and size to make funky Christmas decorations. Get kids involved in this craft for something entertaining to do for everyone. This craft repurposes any old bottles you have and yields decorations that will be a sure conversation starter. Place several decorated bottles together for a themed decoration, or display them as a table centerpiece or along a windowsill during the Christmas season.

Things You'll Need

• Oil craft paint
• Paintbrushes
• Embellishments (small Christmas lights, miniature ornaments, berries, tinsel or greenery)

Instructions

1. Clean the bottles thoroughly with warm water and soap. Allow them to dry before you begin this craft.

2. Paint Christmas designs on the outside of the bottles with oil paints. Christmas trees, wreaths, snowmen, snowflakes, reindeer and holly leaves are traditional ideas for the decorations. Allow the paint to dry.

3. Fill the bottles with embellishments that will look interesting from the outside of the bottle. Small Christmas lights inside, little ornaments, pieces of greenery or ribbons and pieces of silver tinsel are all options. Another idea is to fill the bottles with Christmas candies or colorful beads.

4. Tie a red or green ribbon around the top of the bottle.
