How to Clean Brass Bed Frames

Brass should have a shiny, golden appearance.

A brass bed frame can be an eye catching piece of furniture for a bedroom. However, brass needs to be cleaned in order to maintain its luster. Without regular cleaning, brass can quickly become dingy and tarnished. Luckily, you can clean brass with simple, gentle household products that happen to be very inexpensive. With a little time and effort, you can have your brass bed frame looking like new.

Things You'll Need

• Lemon
• Salt
• Rags
• Toothbrush

Instructions

1. Slice a lemon in half.

2. Dip the flat side of one of the halves into a pile of salt.

3. Rub the salted lemon over the brass bed frame. You may have to resalt the lemon occasionally or use new lemon halves, depending on how large the frame is.

4. Allow the lemon juice and salt to remain on the bed frame for about 15 minutes.

5. Wipe the frame clean. Use circular motions with your cloth to polish as you go. For small, hard to reach areas, use a toothbrush.
