How to Polish a Brass Rifle
The phrase "polishing rifle brass" is generally a term used for the cleaning and shining of brass ammunition casings. A brass rifle, though decorative in nature, benefits from cleaning, polishing and the removal of oxidation and tarnish. Homemade cleaners consisting of common household ingredients will bring your unlaquered brass rifle back to its original luster.

Tips & Warnings
If these methods do not work to restore your brass rifle, consider taking it to a professional metal cleaner.
Do not use these methods on brass that has been treated with lacquer, because it could destroy the finish. Lacquered brass should be wiped with a damp rag and buffed to a shine.
