1
Turn your vehicle´s engine off. Lift the hood and locate the Holley carburetor. On the carburetor itself, locate the idle mixture screws. These screws (two total) are located on each side of the metering block, which is found in between the float chamber and the carburetor´s main body.
-
2
Tighten the idle mixture screws by turning them with a screwdriver (use 1/4 turns to adjust). Tighten the screws only to where you feel a small amount of resistance and then start the vehicle´s engine and let it run for several minutes.

3
Locate the vacuum port on the underside of the carburetor and remove the hose. After you have done this, attach a vacuum gauge to the carburetor´s vacuum port. With the engine still running, begin loosening the screws while watching the vacuum gauge.

4
Loosen the screws until the vacuum gauge reads 600 rpm. Once you have done this, reattach the vacuum hose to the carburetor and turn the engine off.
